Initially, the cargo inspection was handled by Plant Quarantine Officers from Government of India. Later it was privatized and we are one of the leading inspection agencies in India with 10 agriculture professionals specialized in the area of Plant Pathology, Entomology, Nematology, and Weed science, and they were trained at National Institute of Plant Health Management (NIPHM), Hyderabad, certified and licensed by Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare, Government of India especially for cargo inspection services. Our technical team composed of knowledge and competency in the detection and identification of pests, plants, plant products, and other regulated articles for export commodities. Our Company, VJS Phytosanitary Service (P) Ltd (Food Testing Laboratory) (VJSPS) was approved by Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine & Storage (DPPQS) and accredited by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare, Government of India to provide phytosanitary assistance and arrangements in quality inspection, laboratory testing, and certification of export consignments mandated for Chemical & biological food & Agricultural products at Tuticorin, Chennai, Coimbatore of Tamil Nadu, and Cochin of Kerala. We adhere to the DPPQS standards and other additional Standard regulations; we emerged as a complete and outstanding Phytosanitary Service Agency for exporters in India.

The VJSPS was approved and initiated in the year 2021, with 10 trained professionals along with 10 technical staffs for documentation and other purposes. However, the approval for cargo inspection was received at May 2023. Currently, VJSPS- Cargo Inspections, approximately performs, 100 inspection services in a day from these different areas.

Our Facilities

In connection with VJS Phytosanitary Service (P) Ltd (Food Testing Laboratory)-cargo inspection, the inspected commodities have to be tested/analyzed in a certified laboratory. Hence, VJS Phytosanitary Service (P) Ltd (Food Testing Laboratory) - Testing Laboratory was made to order. The VJSPS-Testing laboratory was initiated in January 2022. VJSPS-Testing laboratory was initially inspected, audited and approved by Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine & Storage - Government of India. Later, the Tuticorin lab was developed with modern Instruments to provide a better quality in testing services. Hence, we improved our standards and we are recognized and accredited (TC-11914) by National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) along with The International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC-MRA). And recently, we obtained approval from BICON-Australian Biosecurity Inspection Services for testing Coir Pith Products, which will be exported to Australia. We are the pioneer and exclusive testing laboratory in the southern Tamil Nadu for testing Food and Agricultural products.

VJSPS-Testing laboratory was emerged with trained professionals of doctorate holders for microbiology, chemistry and four Master degree holders in the respective fields and also, we have two technical staffs for documentation and other purposes.
